So Many Moments Blog

I learned a lot in 2011. And many of those things were discovered while renovating the old location of Little Things into the new So Many Moments photography office! From refinishing the walls with joint compound, to laying my floor, and the giant stencil I did on the back wall, it was all a labor of love. Matt was happy to help me with sanding down the walls, which was a terrific help! And the back wall was inspired by stylish and HELPFUL designer Courtney Out Loud.  I’m so happy in my new little nest, and love working from here. You can hardly tell it’s just a garage anymore!

I can’t wait to see all of the photos I’ll edit here in 2012. Oh, and I adore distractions, so random visitors please, swing on by to see it for yourself next time you’re in NW Portland!

It was such a treat to have the opportunity to take both Chris & Dan’s engagement photos and wedding photos! This couple is just so super cool. They’re laid back, in love, and know how to have a good time: what more do you need for a fantastic wedding?

I knew when the day began with the bride rocking out pop dance music with her girlfriends getting ready, it was going to be a really fun day. I don’t think the smiles ever left their faces. It’s so awesome to see a couple really just ENJOY their big day. It can be so stressful, I know it was for me personally, so I really admired their ROLL WITH IT attitude. The venue was beautiful, the details thoughtfully planned, and the party went late into the night. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.

Emmy & Daniel’s celebration came complete with picture perfect weather, a well-put together “bros before hoes” speech, and lots and lots of happy, happy tears. It was lovely, and we were so glad to be there to capture all the fun. Once the dance floor started hopping we set up some flashes and landed some really fun shots. This group knows how to party! And best of all, Emmy and Daniel are so happy together! Congrats again you guys!

Our friend, Chef Andrew Garrett, entered a competition where chefs teamed up with breweries to cook up delicious food to compliment their team’s beer, and WON with Ambacht Brewing. ‘Open Kitchen’ decided to expand upon the winning duo and invited Chef Andrew and Ambacht to create a 5-course meal, each course paired with a different beer. What’s really neat about ‘The Open Kitchen’ is that everyone at the dinner gets to enjoy one course in the kitchen, watching the magic happen. Matt and I were invited along and didn’t just play with our food, we photographed it too! More on our FB page and more about The Open Kitchen on theirs! Also, keep your eyes peeled for Chef Andrew’s new hot sauce coming to Williams Sonoma’s this fall!

2010 was such a stellar year!!! This is a big, huge thank you to all the fabulous people who let me take their photograph this past year. One last hoorah for 2010 with a few random, favorite moments, and onward we travel through 2011! *high five*

I browse other photographer’s blogs and websites constantly for inspiration and to see what kind of fresh and fabulous things my peers are doing. One night, I was searching for a blog geared towards photographers like myself, who work in a range of portraiture work, that showcases all types of really rad photo sets. Frustrated I couldn’t find one, I decided to make it myself. And thus, Another Shot In The Dark was born.

Check out this new blog for beautiful sets from specific shoots or series of photography works by a wide variety of fabulous artists around the world! There is no shortage of incredible talent out there, so I look forward to keeping up with this fun new project of mine! Let’s all keep on shooting! *high five*
