Wedding Reception at the Portland Art Museum Library

This first time we met, Michelle told me this fantastic story about her first trip to Greece. She went alone after college, and fell in love immediately. She told me it was the most romantic place she’d ever been, and how she had vowed to herself not to return until she was getting married there. Cue in lucky Mr.Sam and her dreams became reality.

While I’ll likely regret not going with them to take their wedding photos for… FOREVER, I was very happy to take the photos of their reception dinner once they got back. They choose the library at the Portland Art Museum to wine and dine a few of their favorite friends and family. They also had some incredible photos to share from their big trip!

Michelle was a dream bride to work with. She was super excitable, always smiling, and supremely organized. Certainly my first bride to ever bring a power point presentations to a meeting! But, even with all of her type-A tendencies, she was more then capable of just relaxing and have a great time. She and Sam were such a joy to work with, and Matt and I wish them all the best!

Laid back, in love, & having a terrific party!

It was such a treat to have the opportunity to take both Chris & Dan’s engagement photos and wedding photos! This couple is just so super cool. They’re laid back, in love, and know how to have a good time: what more do you need for a fantastic wedding?

I knew when the day began with the bride rocking out pop dance music with her girlfriends getting ready, it was going to be a really fun day. I don’t think the smiles ever left their faces. It’s so awesome to see a couple really just ENJOY their big day. It can be so stressful, I know it was for me personally, so I really admired their ROLL WITH IT attitude. The venue was beautiful, the details thoughtfully planned, and the party went late into the night. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.

Kristin & Mark’s Bridal Veil Wedding

Summer Oregon Wedding in the Columbia River Gorge

Sometimes our clients find us online, through the WPJA or Facebook, but sometimes they’re friends! We met Kristin & Mark through mutual friends and got to know them on a really awesome white water rafting trip. They’re such a lovely couple, and it was so neat to be there to capture their big day.

The wedding was up at incredible Bridal Veil Lakes in the Columbia River Gorge area of Oregon. It’s such a magical part of the country, and not far from where Matthew and I promised our own wedding vows to one another just a tiny bit earlier in the summer.

Kristin and Mark took full advantage of the location, utilizing even the lake itself when she boldly got into a canoe in her wedding gown! It was such a beautiful day, with so many wonderful friends and family out to join them. They even included their dog, Daisy, as the ring bearer! All in all, another awesome summer Oregon wedding! Congratulations Kristin and Mark!

Summer pacific northwest wedding just outside of Seattle, WA

Cassy & Andy’s beautiful wedding was set outside of Seattle at the Wine and Rose Country Estate. Their ceremony out on the sunny lawn and reception cozy in an old barn adorned with giant chandeliers and endless strings of little lights; it was the perfect summer pacific northwest affair.

Beyond that, this couple was charming! They’re so very much in love, and with all their family and friends gathered to celebrate with them, they were just glowing. We felt right at home in the mix and enjoyed taking endless candids of their guests having a great time through the afternoon. Cassy also choose a lot of the music herself, and I remember catching myself jamming out to tunes I love to listen to too, that aren’t traditionally played at weddings as often. It was a subtle touch to their unique day of love, laughter, and that one big promise that we’re all there to witness. Congratulations you two!

Portland Wedding

Michael and Kalindra planned their Portland wedding from Utah, and they were my first meeting over videochat! It was such a fun way to get to meet a couple from out of town, where as usually I only get to chat on the phone with my destination brides. It was so lovely to see how they interact, and how excited they were to be married to one another. Two peas in a pod, these two!

The wedding was a big event, and everyone took part in making it truly special. One of my favorite details was the rubber duckies all over the place as decoration, wedding favors, and even adorning the cake! The couple had a long history of exchanging the little duckies. I was pleased that I’d taken a photo of their rings on the devil duckie, as I later found out this lil’ guy in particular had added significance to the couple. It’s just another example of a couple making their wedding very much their own, something I love to see and totally admire!

Summer Oregon wedding at a winery outside of Portland

Vanessa & Pierre had a beautiful summer Oregon wedding at a vineyard outside of Portland. The weather was perfect, their daughter ADORABLE, and the view heavenly! A lot of Pierre’s family had come all the way from France, making for a lovely mix of culture, language, family and fun! (Oh, and of course the food was fantastic too!) I also thought it was really neat that there was a ping pong table set up near the dinner tables to keep the kids entertained. If I hadn’t been such a busy bee taking photos, I definitely would have played them a round!

Summer Oregon Wedding

What a fantastic couple and a FUN wedding at McMenamin’s Cornelius Pass Roadhouse! I met Jess & Bill through their hilarious wedding planner Toni Booker (of Purple Lilly Events), and had the opportunity to take their engagement photos before their big day. This wedding was so special because it was filled with so much positive and genuine emotion! One of Jess’ cousins is a professional dancer, and she put on a little performance for the guests that was really top notch; it set a really great vibe for the rest of their party! Here’s to wishing Jess & Bill all the happiness in the world!!! More of their photos will be posted soon on Facebook.com/SoManyMoments!
